About Mount Shasta

Mount Shasta – a lone sentinel in Northern California

Mount Shasta, at 14,179 feet (4,322 meters) in elevation, stand as a lone sentinel in Northern California at the southern-most tip of the volcanic root of the entire Cascade Range. In 1873 when explorer Joaquin Miller first viewed Mount Shasta he wrote, “Lonely as God and white as a winter moon, Mount Shasta starts up sudden and solitary from the heart of the great black forests of Northern California.” Naturalist, John Muir displayed his awe by saying, “When I caught sight of it . . . I was fifty miles away and afoot, alone and weary. Yet all my blood turned to wine, and I have not been weary since.”

Indeed, Mount Shasta is an inspiration to all who view her impressive peaks. Whether you’re on a climb to her summit, a casual hike through her meadows and forests or on a sacred journey to understand more about yourself and the universe you live, the mountain has much to offer. Known worldwide as a spiritual energy vortex, it attracts thousands of curious seekers from around the globe – many of whom are called to come there through their dreams, visions or inner guidance. Not knowing exactly what Mount Shasta has in store for them, they know, without a doubt that they must come here and discover what treasures await them.

“So what is a sacred mountain, anyway?” some people may ask. Edward Burnbaum, author of Sacred Mountains of the World, offers his thoughts on that in the following quote. “The sacred embodies whatever we cherish above everything else, whatever stirs our deepest feelings and awakens our highest aspirations. This will differ from person to person, and from culture to culture. Whatever it may be, the ultimate value expressed in the sacred provides meaning, direction and purpose in life. It gives us a sense of place and inspires our greatest efforts.”

Spiritual Aspects of Mount Shasta

Many people believe there is  an Inner Earth civilization underneath Mount Shasta where the ancient Lemurians came after their continent was destroyed, many thousands of years ago. It is now known as the crystal city of Telos and is inhabited by 5th to 7th dimensional beings called Telosians. They are all about love, peace, respectful actions, working together toward common goals, and enjoying life to the fullest. They are also working towards helping the “surface dwellers,” those who live on Earth’s surface, to remember how to live their life like that too, for many of you have forgotten how important that is. You can read more about the ancient continent of Lemuria and present-day Telosian philosophy in Ashalyn’s book, Adama Discourses: walking the light path with intention and purpose. That book was channeled through Ashalyn by Adama who lives in Telos and is a spokesperson between Telos and those who live upon Earth’s surface. Click here to purchase that book.

Whatever your beliefs may be, the energy of the mountain is very inspiring and carries with it feelings of antiquity, wisdom and grandeur. It can also be very dangerous if the proper precautions are not taken by you, so hike and climb wisely and don’t count on “spirit” or your good karma to protect you during a snow storm, etc. when you’re not dressed appropriately. Many lives have been lost on that mountain. When used wisely and with the right intentions, Mount Shasta can be a catalyst for those who seek to improve life, expand awareness, remember their divine roots, and explore its many wonders. Please tread lightly and receive the area in its present state of perfect random beauty, without disturbing a thing. The local Native Americans want it to remain natural, “. . . as the Creator made it.” Take nothing away but the wonderful energy and peace of mind you’ve received, and leave nothing behind but your prayers, love and admiration for nature’s abundant grace.

Who knows? With a bit of luck, the right intent and some impeccable timing you may even come across an Ascended Master or two, a Telosian or perhaps a Native American spirit coming to share the present moment with you. So open you heart and mind and use your intuitive skills to receive whatever gifts may await you on this sacred mountain. And remember to give thanks for whatever you receive.
