Ashalyn at Panther Meadow on Mount Shasta

September 16, 1993: I took a rest while hiking to South Gate Meadows on Mount Shasta and sat in the shade of an old growth Western Pine tree. As I relaxed, the mountain spoke to me.

Mountain’s Offer
by Mount Shasta

Many travelers come my way
hoping to see life’s wonders in stone.
Mountains hold mysteries
way beyond the imaginations
of well-meaning seekers of light.
Within this mountain rests wisdom . . .
wisdom given freely to
those who seek.

Walk upon my pathways
and I shall give you freedom

from worries, cares
and the fears that burden you

while on your great Earth Walk.
I offer solace.
I offer hope.
I offer visions of more to come.

I am here to help mankind
see the folly of their ways
as compared to
the purposeful magic of nature.
I find within mankind
a quality that greatly pleases me . . .
a quality of hope
not far beneath the surface
of depression and hopelessness.
That quality of hope is what I uncover
as I gently encourage them
to try once more
to walk in the footsteps of the Father.

If you can make it up to my lofty pinnacles
I will show you the purpose of life
upon this planet.
I will show you the meaning of love
as it burns within the hearts of mankind . . .
love much greater than any seen
through the eyes of hopelessness and fear.

Love upon this mountain
grows and grows
until there is nothing more
than love itself
complete and whole
everywhere and in everything.
